Part vlog, part game, the viewer gets to follow Wolfie on multiple paths to work through the city – encountering and re-encountering memorable characters across two timelines. He’s walking to work, like he always does. But today is his birthday – so surely something should be different?
When you’ve played it, have a look at the Playable Map which lets you dive into the story at any point and see the paths not taken!

Behind Closed Doors

This short horror by cinematographer/director/producer team of Josefine Midtgaard, Hanna Szwebs and Laura Bonde Pedersen is the gripping and disturbing story of a young woman in Copenhagen who’s just moved into a new apartment far away from family and friends, which she suspects is related to an old nordic mythical creature called Draugur… Watch the team in a Roundtable discussion at Encounters Film Festival to hear about their experience using Stornaway

Find Me A Girlfriend!

Find Me a Girlfriend is an interactive film that replicates the format of a video game to explore issues such as internalised homophobia and fetishisation within the LGBTQIA+ community. The film embarks on this exploration with the characters, Sam and Alexa.

These issues are introduced to the audience in a video game format, giving them the power to choose how they deal with this

Creative Learning Portal

The Egg Theatre - Josephine

The creative team at The Egg, Theatre Royal Bath used Stornaway.io to make a Creative Learning Portal for their show about the life of legendary African-American entertainer, activist and French Resistance fighter Josephine Baker, to be explored by teachers and children in classrooms before and after the play, journeying through more than 26 different films, activities, interviews and experiences. Interactive History Lesson

A Historical Tour of Florence

Take your class outdoors virtually – and ask them questions to make sure they’re fully engaged! This is an interactive history lesson (in Italian) which your teacher acts as a tour guide cycling around the beautiful city of Florence/Firenze and asks you questions. Interactive Filmmaking Course

American University Collaborative Interactive Filmmaking

University film and game courses in the USA and UK have been using Stornaway.io to teach interactive narrative. This is one example of a project by a class of 1st year film students at American University in Washington DC. They each wrote and directed a film in lockdown, collaborating with each other and designing a world they called the ‘circle of hell’, with 7 interconnecting shorts – at the end of each, you get a choice to view another.
