What Stornaway.io’s Leadership Award wins show about the future of interactive media
by Micaela Valdizan Woodman | May 2026
What a month! We’re delighted to win in three categories at the 22nd Annual ITVT/TVOT Leadership Awards in Montreal.
This is the first time an individual company has taken home three corporate awards in a single year, so we’re absolutely overjoyed. For us, it’s a real recognition of our incredible team’s hard work and a testament to our creator’s vision.
But it’s not just about the number of awards but also what those specific category wins reveal. To achieve first place in advanced advertising, most significant UX and furthering the social good, highlights the specific areas where interactive media is really hitting its stride.
🏆 Achievement for Furthering the Social Good – Mixmups with Ultra Access
Backed by Paramount and the British Film Institute (BFI) for Channel 5’s Milkshake!, this is the world’s first ‘ultra-accessible’ children’s TV series – a truly major milestone.

The vision of TV producer Rebecca Atkinson, and animated by Mackinnon and Saunders, this pioneering show separates all the elements and features of traditional TV – picture, music, special effects, audio descriptions, subtitles, BSL and more. Viewers can then pick ‘n’ mix to their requirements. A new kind of accessible TV has emerged, allowing more children to fully engage and enjoy MixMups on their own terms.
Using Stornaway makes it easier to increase the accessibility of your TV or video content. Make sure your content is understandable and engaging, regardless of the viewer’s environment, and you open the door to wider audiences.
🏆 Achievement in Advanced Advertising – An Advertising Tail
We’re proud to be the first content creation platform to win this category (move over, Harmonic, Comcast and VIZIO). Powered by Stornaway, An Advertising Tail is an interactive B2B campaign for Amazon Ads by Business Insider/Insider Studios.

The My Access Features menu for MixMups With Ultra Access
Designed for pre-schoolers, the My Access Features menu lets viewers easily select their own viewing preferences. Background music can be turned down to make the dialogue more accessible. Makaton is available, alongside British Sign Language. The visuals can be simplified to focus on characters without needing to process additional visual information. This ground-breaking concept has already transformed the possibilities for children and their carers.
And, using Stornaway’s powerful editor, this was all delivered by a regular TV production team without writing a single line of code. Imagine what this level of active personalisation could do for your business.

“We designed Stornaway to unlock new technology for producers making content for a generation used to playing and interacting with their media. These awards show what can happen when creators are given the tools to innovate – and we are so delighted that our production and delivery partners had the vision to pioneer and support these new formats.”
